The Utah Legal Sandbox has begun accepting applications for legal services providers that are offering solutions connected to legal issues caused by Covid-19. These include eviction, domestic violence and other family disputes, and consumer debt challenges, among other things. From the announcement:
“Proposals can include legal service offerings from nonlawyer owned entities, including nonlawyer subject matter experts and technological platforms. Your proposals should satisfy the following criteria:
- (a) is ready to implement
- (b) is already adapted to Utah requirements (state laws)
- (c) has a direct application to identified pressing Covid-19 caused legal issues
- (d) requires a specific regulatory waiver (Sandbox eligible)”
